My Coaching Philosophy
Why coaching?
I am committed to empowering you, as current and future leaders, to share your unique gifts with the world and to find both fulfillment and joy in your career and personal lives. As a leader, your qualities have a ripple effect throughout your organization. By deeply anchoring your actions in values and purpose, and leading with courage and compassion, you can be a catalyst for a high-performing, drama-free, and energizing work environment.
My core beliefs in coaching
Life is holographic, with work, relationships, hobbies, and community engagements all acting as manifestations of our holistic beings. Struggles at work, though uncomfortable, can provide a valuable entry point for self-discovery and transformation.
As a coach, I may not have all the answers, but I have a powerful ally: your inner Self. It harbors the curiosity, compassion, courage, and wisdom necessary to navigate challenging situations and promote a journey of growth, fulfillment, and happiness. The primary goal of our sessions is to enable you to access and trust the guidance of your inner Self.
In my role as a coach, I not only assist in solving problems, but also act as a “mirror”. When you look into this mirror, you can see your authentic self with complete acceptance, potentials waiting for manifestation, and possibly, a healing power for self-reconciliation and transformation.
My coaching approaches
Meeting you where you are. Even though the guiding beliefs may seem philosophical, their real value lies in supporting practical actions. Therefore, we will start with whatever is most relevant and beneficial for you at the moment. This could be a specific challenge you're facing at work, a long-sought-after promotion, or a pressing need to clarify your next steps.
The '道' (underlying law), '术' (strategy and tactics), and '势' (systematic dynamics) form a framework that I frequently use to help clients gain insights and change their perspectives on their situations. When we're on the dance floor, our minds are often preoccupied with reactive tactics. Instead, I usually guide my clients to adopt a different perspective, focusing on the system and group dynamics, as well as the root causes of their problems. With this newfound clarity, we often find more sustainable and even "easier" solutions to what initially appeared to be challenging problems.
Know thyself. Most difficult situations at work often involve managing people and navigating strong emotions. Reflect on instances when you avoided conflict instead of doing what was right, doubted your abilities despite receiving praise, or experienced intense anxiety while managing performances. The only way out is in: it's essential to confront and accept your vulnerabilities in these situations, and you will be surprised by how much more freedom and strength you’ll gain.
Deliberate Practice. Growth is challenging. Even with deep insights about the problem or yourself, action is necessary to overcome these situations. I can serve as your commitment device and cheerleader during this period of deliberate practice. Hopefully, you will be able to do the same for your team if they face similar challenges in the future.
Should we give it a try?
